Signs of Spring

Most of my readers have been enjoying spring for several weeks now. Here in the north we are still looking for signs of spring.

The prettiest sign is inside my house - most would not consider it a sign of spring. My amaryllis is blooming fabulously in a beautiful dark red shade.

Other signs - a few Canada geese have been sighted flying around the area. Most of the snow is melted so last years grass is showing through.

Yesterday we enjoyed snow flurries all day long. It never got above freezing. Today is much colder and is not likely to get above freezing either. So much for global warming that we hear so much about.

Thought I'd drop by your house today. I sure would like to see tha amyrillis (sp?). Stephanie Matejka gave us a beautiful delicate pink lily--one you can actually plant in the yard--and it has several blossoms opening up. It is still inside. After quite a warm spell, we are getting colder and windier weather too. Not so much incentive to be outside.
I am planning on having an Easter Party at the Chapel on Saturday afternoon. I am pretty nervous about it and really need prayer. I haven't taught kids for a few years, and I really need the Lord's strength and wisdom to be able to do it. We're planning to use the Resurrection Eggs. I use a homemade set and am making sets for those who come. Today I need to work on that mostly, as well as Coffee Hour lesson. Hope your day goes well. Love, from your sister, Pat, Patty, Patricia Anne F. Van Essen

Good show PPPAFVE - sounds like you are going to be busy the rest of this week. I've been busy this morning reading & commenting on blogs, making hot-cross buns for the aftermeeting fellowship time. I am just waiting for them to rise a little more so they can be baked. Think I'll take the time to hem my new jumper (I could wear it tonight if I do). I need to get out for a walk after the baking is cone. If any time remains before supper I'll go to the Office Depot for some photo copies of some documents which I need.

I've also been reading up on how to transfer the pictures from the camera to the computer - I'm not quite ready to experment. Oh yes, I took some time to take pictures of the amaryllis so eventually maybe you'll get to see it.

I am pretty happy with myself that so far I've set this blog up by myself with a hint from Val.

Love, JEFZ (For some odd reason after all these years I started to write Ferris on a form where I should have used Zimmermann)

Ahh, spring. Just about five minutes ago I looked out our window and saw snowflakes floating by. Interesting. Other than that, our tulips are up about 4 inches and the grass is slowly getting patchy-green. The trees are still baren, but the robins are hopping around gleefully and Squeaky really likes to see them and point them out to me.

Looking forward to your photo adventures on the blog! :)

Love, Valerie

Jean, Canada is very beautiful! I like how you write about it. I learned that MB is the land of 100,000 lakes. Wow!
